Abstract:

Studies that have been conducted until recently regarding the expressions in Turkey and other countries have been limited to list this language element and explain its meaning. The most important feature of phrases are to fall within the values of the basic socio-cultural life of the human mind and provide important clues to ∗ Ardahan Üni. İnsani Bilimler ve Edebiyat Fak. In this article, the importance of these characteristics in expressions have been aimed to attract the attention of researchers and as an example to this, expressions including the term earth in Kirghiz Turkish and Turkey Turkish are discussed in comparative method based on the socio-cultural foundations. Thus, the elements of earth within the general Turkish culture and its reflections to idioms and conceptual areas in both dialects as constituent elements that make up these idioms have been identified.
