Abstract:

In this research it is aimed to scale the criteria which were thought to be effective in mate selection related to sorting statements. It was also tried to determine the significance row of these criteria according to gender variable by doing scaling study. 556 students who were educated in a spring fall in 20122013 years at Erciyes University's several faculties participated to this research. In this research questions that aim to determine the features of students and a survey which was formed by criteria which will be scaled were used. According to findings university students considered personality as the most important criterion then religious beliefs, love, family harmony, educational level, physical attraction, virginity, income, being same race and political view in a row. This sorting was as follows for female university students; personality, religious beliefs, love, educational level, family harmony, physical attraction, virginity, income, being same race and political view, whereas it was as follows for male university students; personality, religious belief, virginity, physical attraction, family harmony, love, income, being same race, educational level and political view.
