Bu araştırma, öğretmen eğitiminde yapılandırmacı yaklaşıma dayalı program uygulamalarının etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada yapılandırmacı yaklaşımın uygulandığı deney grubu ile konu merkezli yaklaşımın kullanıldığı kontrol grupları arasında erişi, kalıcılık ve tutum düzeyleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada ayrıca, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin otantik değerlendirme sonuçları ve bunlar arasındaki ilişkiler de araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği ana bilim dalında öğrenim gören 67 öğretmen adayı üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmada verilerin elde edilmesinde, çoktan seçmeli test, klasik test, tutum ölçeği ve otantik değerlendirme formları kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgularda, deney grubunun öntest, sontest ve izleme testi ve klasik test sonuçlarının kontrol grubundan daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Yine deney grubundaki öğrencilerin öğrenme ortamına ilişkin tutumlarının da kontrol grubu öğrencilerinden daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Deney grubundaki öğrencilerin otantik değerlendirme sonuçlarının yüksek olduğu ve bu sonuçlar arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu bulunmuştur. Ancak çoktan seçmeli test sonuçları ile otantik değerlendirme sonuçları arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunamamıştır.
