Abstract:

     In the studies on the classification of Anatolian dialects, one of the elements used in determining the differences between the main mouth regions is sound events. While sound events combine some accent groups, they split some others. The /ğ/ consonant has caused various sound events in Anatolian dialects. Therefore, it has been used as one of the determining elements the main mouth groups.     The /ğ/ consonant which did not exist during the historical periods of Turkish emerged in Western Turkish. The condition of /ğ/ consonant that is shown regular in written language shows variety in Anatolian accents.     This study deals with the /ğ/ consonant based sound events seen in Derleme Sözlüğü. To show the changes in the single-syllabic words ending with / ğ / consonant, polysyllabic words that have /ğ/ consonant at the beginning of the syllable and polysyllabic words that have /ğ/ consonant at the end of the syllable have been identified. These words have been used to determine the changes. Three Turkey maps have been prepared for the three main titles determined to see the state of the sound events in Anatolian dialects as a whole, and the changes are shown on these maps.
