Araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının empatik eğilimleri ve problem çözme becerilerinin farklı değişkenler açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya Çanakkale On sekiz Mart Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinin farklı bölümlerinde öğrenim gören 360 öğretmen adayı katılımcı olarak alınmıştır. Verilerin toplanması amacıyla, Problem Çözme Envanteri (Heppner ve Peterson, 1982) ile Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği (Dökmen, 1988) kullanılmıştır. Problem Çözme Envanteri Türkçe’ye Şahin, Şahin ve Heppner (1993) tarafından uyarlanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, t test ve Anova istatiksel analiz teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Sonuçlar, öğretmen adaylarının cinsiyetlerine ve bölümlerinin öğretim biçimlerine (birinci öğretim ve ikinci öğretim) göre empatik beceri ile ilgili görüşleri arasında farklılık olduğunu, öğrenim gördükleri sınıflara, anabilim dallarına, annelerinin ve babalarının öğrenim düzeylerine göre ise empatik becerileri arasında farklılık olmadığını göstermektedir. Diğer taraftan, problem çözme becerileriyle ilgili olarak da, öğretmen adaylarının öğrenim gördükleri sınıflara, anabilim dallarına ve babalarının öğrenim düzeylerine göre problem çözme becerileri ile ilgili algıları arasında farklılığın olduğu; cinsiyet, bölümlerinin öğretim biçimlerine (birinci öğretim ve ikinci öğretim) ve annelerinin öğrenim düzeylerine göre ise farklılığın olmadığı ortaya konulmuştur.
The purpose of the study is to study the empathic trends and problem-solving skills of the teacher candidates in terms of different variables. The research was taken as a participant by 360 teachers candidates who studied in various departments of the University of Çanakkale on March 18th. For the purpose of gathering data, the Problem Solving Inventory (Heppner and Peterson, 1982) and the Empatic Trend Scale (Dökmen, 1988) were used. The problem solving inventory was adapted to Turkish by Shahin, Shahin and Heppner (1993) In the analysis of data, t test and Anova statistical analysis techniques have been used. The findings show that teachers' candidates have differences between their views on empathic skills according to their gender and teaching forms (first and second teaching), and that there is no difference between their empathic skills according to their classes, maternity branches, and their mothers and fathers' educational levels. On the other hand, as regards problem-solving skills, it has also been found that there is a difference between the teaching candidates’ perceptions of the classes in which they study, the disciplines of maternity and the problem-solving skills of their fathers according to their educational levels; that there is no difference between gender, their departments according to their teaching forms (first and second teaching) and their mothers according to their educational levels.
