Abstract:

Entrepreneurship makes a huge contribution for economy to improve by opening new business fields. Traineeship of potential entrepreneurs has come to the forefront by the help of popularization of entrepreneurship. For this reason, a lot of academical studies have been performed to determine entrepreneurship tendency of university students. In this study, industrial engineering students are observed as the sample group which hasn’t been studied with before. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of demographic characteristics on the entrepreneurship personality characteristics and entrepreneurship tendency; relation/dependance between entrepreneur personality characteristics and entrepreneurship tendency; and the influence of entrepreneurship training on the entrepreneurship tendency of the students who study in the last grade in Department of Industrial Engineering at Kocaeli University. As the result of analysis of the data which has been collected from 139 students by survey, existence of an entrepreneur among the students’ family influences the entrepreneurship tendency in a positive way.  As for that, it’s been determined that there isn’t relation between entrepreneurship tendency and students’ gender and family education level. By determination of a positive relation between entrepreneur personality characteristics and entrepreneurship tendency, it’s reached as a result that the entrepreneurship training which is given has increased entrepreneurship tendency.
