Esnaflar, ticaretin ilk dönemlerinden bu yana iş hayatı içerisinde etkili bir rol oynamaktadır. En genel tanımıyla esnaf; kısıtlı bir sermaye ile daha çok beden gücüne dayanarak iş yapan, bağımsız girişimciler olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Ekonomi içerisinde yerine getirdiği işlevlere rağmen esnaf işletmeleri, hem makroekonomik hem de yapısal sorunlarından kaynaklanan nedenlerle rekabette her geçen gün daha çok kan kaybetmektedir. Bu çalışmada Çorum ilinde faaliyet gösteren esnaf ve sanatkâr işletmelerinin sorunlarını tespit etmeye yönelik saha çalışması yapılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularının görselleştirilerek daha kolay anlaşılabilmesini sağlamak amacıyla, faaliyet gösterilen sektörler bazında tespit edilen sorunlar ve olası çözüm önerileri “algı haritası” üzerinde gösterilmiştir.
