Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed to examine the role and importance of tourism in the development of credit cards in the world, the arrival in Turkey, its development in Turkey. In addition, by showing the yearly increase in credit card usage volume of tourists coming in Turkey, this study aims to draw attention to their importance in terms of tourism in Turkey and to help activities about it. Data was gathered from Interbank Card Center and the Banks Association of Turkey and the current situation was described after the literature review. It was found out that credit cards arrived in Turkey thanks to tourism sector, provided important contributions to the development of tourism in Turkey and has been found to still continue to provide.
