Abstract:

This study is conducted to determine the relationship between primary school teachers' job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The working group is consisted of 204 teachers that are chosen as neutral from twelve primary schools at three districts located in the European side of Istanbul city and determined by disproportionately cluster sampling method. Data were collected by using the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and Organizational Commitment Scale. Descriptive statistics were calculated, t-test, Kruskal Wallis-H, Mann Whitney-U and Pearson Product- Moment Correlation analysis were applied for analyzing the data. The findings of the study indicated that, there is a high positive correlation between teachers' job satisfaction and organizational commitment. In addition, teachers have high level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment; emotional factors are more effective for job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
