Abstract:

One of the aspects which separate the modern life from past periods is the level reached in transportation systems. Road transportation is more common than many of the other transportation forms. This transportation manner has developed abnormally. For this reason, the traffic accidents had been all but inevitable. On Turkish highway, vehicles which have the greatest deal of number are automobiles. So, vehicle that faces accidents is automobile and, besides too, persons who face this accident are automobile driver in generally. In this study, it has been dealt with the automobile drivers’ cases of their having accident, thought on speed and accident reason, manners of perceiving the traffic rules, conscious level on subject of vehicle and road security, attitudes in traffic and opinion on subject of driving in way of being intoxicated. Questionnaire as a mean of collecting the knowledge was used, besides informal interview and observation techniques have been practiced here and there. It has been strived to be explored the relations between the specific independent variables and dependent variables and therefore has been operated to be reached to some generalizations.
