Abstract:

It is possible to say that the great responsibility for the protection of the child is in the teachers and administrators who work in the educational institutions, considering the place they spend a lot of time after their families. Teachers are key in the discovery and support of this subject. Recognition of abuse and notification to the competent authorities are primarily and primarily the responsibilities of health workers and teachers, and these persons are also the first adults to communicate with the child outside the family. The objective of this study is to determine the level of knowledge and risk recognition of classmates working in the Gümüşhane province on child abuse and misconduct. The study was done in accordance with the visual scan model from quantum research methods. During the 2018-2019 educational teaching period, all class teachers who worked in the Gümüşhane province center were included in the study and received 96 teachers, including 52 volunteers (54.2%), 44 men (45.8%) who agreed to participate in the research. Data collection tools have been developed by Demographic Information Form and Uysal (1998) for the Identification of Child Abuse and Disability Risk Scale Form (CIBRTO). According to the data obtained from the study, classmates have insufficiency in the level of knowledge and risk recognition about child abuse and misconduct and the findings have been discussed in the light of literature.
