The purpose of this study is to investigate preservice teachers’ perceptions of ethical values and including usefulness of values. Total 342 students (236 female and 106 male) were randomly selected for this study. Literature review and questionnaire technique were used to realize the aims of the study. The instruments “Ethical Values Questionnaire” and “Personal Information Form” developed by the researches. To collect data collection descriptive survey model was used. For statistical analysis, arithmetic mean, standart deviation, frequency were used. Also for evaluation of open-ended questions frequency analysis was used. From a list ethical values, college students selected as the highest ethical value in importance to be respect, next in order, fairness, honesty, trustworthiness, patriotism, caring for environment, responsibility, , helpfulness, understanding, and tolerance. When the data obtained were analyzed, home origin for acquiring ethical values rated as a first choice and as a second followed by religion and the third selection was friends. More than the half of the sample population seems to have a good interest about ethical values. The most important values they decided the ones selected as a need for education are: respect, next in order, fairness, tolerance, honesty, love, responsibility, hardworking, communication, open mindedness, and creativity. The majority of sample believe the need of ethical values courses for university students. Students think that values must be taught by means of student-centred methods like creative drama, case study, group discussion. Also, students’ answers for “main benefits of the application of ethical values for individuals, families, education, and society” were analysed and interpreted by determined themes by the researches.
