Abstract:

The museums are places that give life to history. The training carried out at the museum helps the individual to learn directly, by seeing, by touching, and to keep the training permanent. The general purpose of this research is to determine the social information and history teachers candidates’ self-sufficiency beliefs to the museum education in terms of various variables. In the research, the scan method was used based on the quantum research method. The study group; Gazi University Gazi Education Faculty Turkish and Social Sciences Education Main Science Department History Education Main Science Department and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Education Faculty Social Information Education Science Department 291 teachers candidates are studying. Working group is selected by a simple, unselective method and according to the essence of volunteering. In the process of gathering research data, the personal information form created by the researcher and developed by Greenbursa and Uslu (2014) was used by the 'Museum Education Related Self-Confidence Scale'. Social information and history teachers candidates have found that in the belief of self-sufficiency towards museum education; gender, museum education lessons are not taken or not, there is a significant difference in the variations in the visit to the museum in the last year.
