Abstract:

In this study, the views of the teachers and managers of the science that work in various primary and secondary education institutions in Turkey were attempted to be revealed on the effectiveness of the service training they received. In the study, the management and teacher's opinions will be described using a mixed method, the quantitative data is collected with the scan model, the quantitative data as well as the open-end questions aimed at obtaining the opinions of the manager and the teacher's in-service educational practices, the way to obtain the quality data. For this, a survey was conducted with 475 teachers and 21 managers working in primary and secondary education institutions in different characteristics. As a data collection tool in the research, the "Service Education Assessment Survey" was used. The study found that teachers and managers participated in the existing service-in-service training activities in order to develop their personal and professional development and to be informed about the changing teaching programs, that they found these activities necessary and effective, that they wanted to get them from teachers who have an academic career in the field of training and who are involved in the practices. However, in the conduct of the activities, they have been faced with various problems in terms of time management, physical space, teaching that performs the activity.
