Abstract:

Tapestry and Textile Arts share the technical and material. Tapestry, also referred to as the Goblen and wall carpet, represents the picturesque stories touched by the cylinder technique. Tapestry documents are tapestry faces created by non-continuous drawing lines, changing place and turning according to the design in the same order - uncontinuous drawing. While the historical history of Europe has been small until the beginning of the 14th century, Tapestry examples, with strong narratives later, are big enough to cover the walls, attracting attention. The Tapestry, recognized as an indicator of social status and wealth, was carried out by paper painters and documentaries of the time. The rooted texture tradition in the Anatolian territory has played a decisive role in the development of Tapestry Art. This art, which has an important place in textile art, has been influential in the formation of textile art in Turkey. The work of the academics has also led the development of Tapestry Art in Turkey. In this study, the development of tapestry art in the world and in Turkey is aimed at being viewed in a general perspective and transmitted through the practices.
