Abstract:

The automotive sector is an important trigger in the development and development of the economy in terms of various factors such as exports, employment, credit management. The added value is a high sector and has a significant impact on our country’s exports. In the management of strategic performance of companies, decisions are taken in many areas such as production, marketing, finance; in the assessment of the performance of companies, financial performance is in the forefront. Therefore, the financial performance of the automotive industry, which has a significant contribution to the economy, must be assessed. In this study, the ratioes calculated from the 8 year data of the automotive companies trading in Bursa Istanbul (BIST) for the period 2010-2017, the explanatory factor analysis and hierarchical aggregation analysis were made and the financial performance of the companies was evaluated. Work capital turnover rates, net profit margins, currency rates, short-term foreign resources/total passive and total foreign resources/total passive rates have been found to have a significant impact on the financial performance assessment. As a result of the aggregation analysis, Ford and Autokar companies show each other’s performance, while Karsan and Federal Mogul companies show each other’s performance.
