Abstract:

ar The article deals with Qabâqibî and Mahir tariqs (Quranic recital ways) which were used to be taught in the field of Qiraah education in early Ottoman era then fell off the map and later faded into oblivion in the last period of the Ottoman Empire so that they are not even known nowadays. In order to clarify the status of these ways in Ottoman Qiraah science, primarily the tariqs which were taught in Ottoman recital schools sketched out roughly then these two tariqs which constitutes the main subject of the article discussed in two separate headings. In this respect, since the Qabâqibî is a tariq graded according to the curricular curriculum, reference was made to the author and the content of the work together whereas the Mahir discussed by the manner of application only because it is a performance-oriented tariq in Qiraah. The purpose of writing this article is to reveal the reasons behind taking off these two ways of Qiraah from the curriculum and its wear off by time. As a conclusion of the researches, it is observed that the decrease in the popularity of the Qiraah which consequently led its students to other fields resulted in the removal of the mentioned tariqs from education curriculum. In addition, it is concluded that the reactions of Yûsufefendizâde, who is one of the authorities in the Ottoman Qiraah field, and his followers to the extracanonical recitations brought about vanishing the Qabâqibî tariq in the course of time.

The purpose of writing this article is to reveal the reasons behind taking off these two ways of Qiraah from the curriculum and its wear off by time. In addition, it is concluded that the reactions of Joseph, who is one of the authorities in the Ottoman Qiraah field, and his followers to the extra-canonical recitations brought about the disappearance of the Qabâqibî date in the course of time.
