Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the lifelong learning trends of high school teachers and compare them according to various variables. In the study, the following questions are answered: 1. What is the level of high school teachers’ lifelong learning tendency? 2nd Does high school teachers’ lifelong learning tendencies significantly vary according to demographic variables? and 3. Is there a meaningful relationship between the sub-dimensions of the scale? This research is in the instant screening model. The universe of research, in the 2017-2018 educational year, is a total of 1602 teachers who work in the middle schools in the center of the Elazığ and the districts; and the sample is a total of 382 teachers determined by simple random sample method. As a data collection tool in the study, the scale called "Tendences of Lifelong Learning" developed by Diker Coşkun and Demirel (2009) was used. According to the findings of this study, the lifelong learning tendencies of high school teachers; while in the low-dimensional level of motivation, the level of lack of learning in the regulation, the severity, the lack of curiosity in the low-dimensional and in the entire scale is partially in line.
