Çalışmanın amacı, 1983-2013 dönemi yıllık verilerden hareketle Türkiye’de beşeri sermaye ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkiyi zaman serileri analizi ile test etmektir. Çalışmada yükseköğretim kademelerinde okul başına düşen öğrenci sayısı, yıllık istihdam rakamları ve yükseköğretim brüt okullaşma oranı değişkenleri beşeri sermayeyi temsilen kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda Johansen-Juselius eşbütünleşme testi, beşeri sermaye ile ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişkinin varlığını ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca Granger nedensellik testi sonuçlarına göre, beşeri sermaye göstergelerinden büyümeye ve büyümeden beşeri sermaye göstergelerine doğru bir nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilememiştir.
The aim of the study is to test the relationship between human capital and economic growth in Turkey through time series analysis, based on annual data from the period 1983-2013. In the study, the number of students per school in the higher education stages, the annual employment figures and the bruto schooling rate variables have been used to represent the human capital. According to the study, the Johansen-Juselius integration test revealed the existence of a long-term relationship between human capital and economic growth. Also, according to the Granger causality test results, a causality relationship from human capital indicators to growth and from growth to human capital indicators was not identified.
