Abstract:

Maturidi has an impact on the understanding of the people and scholars even after his death, due to his approach and views about Islamic theology. Therefore, the school of thought that was established by him has been adopted as a theological school by the orthodox Muslims. However, the accumulation that was set forth by both Maturidi and his followers hasn’t limited only to theological field. Thus, there was a lot of information about major Islamic science in their works.  One of the main sources of knowledge that Maturidi scholars (ulama) used was the tradition of the Prophet (hadith). The place of hadith in the heritage of Maturidi School is questioned and shows İmam Maturidi’s approach to hadith in this paper.
