Naht, Arap dilinde iki veya üç kelimeden ya da bir cümleden ihtisar yoluyla yepyeni bir kelime üretmektir. Dili zenginleştirme ve ihtisar gibi özellikleri olan naht olgusu bir dil açısından çok önemli husustur. el-Halil b. Ahmed, Arap dilindeki naht olgusunu ilk ifade eden kişi olarak bilinmektedir. O, el-‘Ayn adlı eserinde naht’la ilgili çok ayrıntılı bilgi vermese de böyle bir özelliğin varlığına dikkat çekmektedir. Bununla beraber İslam’dan önceki dönemde de naht’la alakalı örnekler ne kadar az olsa da bilinmektedir. Makalede naht’ın tanımı verildikten sonra naht’ın cevazı, Arapların naht’a başvurma sebebi ve gayesi ile alakalı bilgi verilecek, naht ile iştikak arasında olan fark belirtilecek, naht’ın genel itibariyle semâ‘î olduğu vurgulanacaktır. Bununla beraber eserlerinde naht olgusunu daha farklı ve daha geniş bir şekilde işleyen İbn Fâris’in bu konuyla alakalı görüşleri incelenecek ve müellifin naht düşüncesine yöneltilen eleştiriler ve bu eleştirilere verilen cevaplar da ele alınacaktır. Ayrıca makalede naht’ın çeşitleri hakkında ayrıntılı bilgi verilecek, menhût ve mezîd kelimeler arasındaki farklar belirtilecektir.
Naht is to produce a whole new word in Arabic by means of two or three words or a phrase. The characteristics of the language, such as the enrichment and the distinction, are very important in terms of a language. El-Halil B. Ahmed is known as the first person to express the fact of the Naht in Arabic. He does not give much detailed information about Naht in his work called al-'Ayn, but he draws attention to the existence of such a feature. It is also known how few examples related to the Naht in the period before Islam were. After the definition of naht is given in the article, the answer of naht will be given information about the reason and purpose of the Arabs to apply to naht, the difference between naht and hearing will be stated, the general reputation of naht will be emphasized as semai. However, the opinions of Ibn Fâris, who deals with the fact of the naht in his works in a different and wider way, on this subject will be examined and the criticisms directed to the naht thought of the author and the answers given to these criticisms will also be discussed. Also, the article will provide detailed information about the varieties of naht, the differences between menhût and mezîd words will be stated.
