Curcânî’de Atom Kavrami ve Felsefesi

Abstract:

In this study, I have briefly summarized the development of atomic views. I explained the general tendencies in this regard. I showed when and for what purpose atomic ideas go into Islamic thought. The main topic of the study is to determine the characteristics of the concept of “atom” in the Seyyid Şerif Cürcânî’s voluminous commentary of Icî’s al-Mevâkif. I completed the study with the discussion of the place of this ontological view in classical physics by describing the qualities of “atom” in Cürcânî.
