Abstract:

The councils, which are important to reflect a society’s social and cultural life, which enable us to acquire rich materials related to the social life of the time, have also taken their place in the mesnevies. In this way, the council, which is a document that reflects the life of the community, has been processed very widely. The subject of our article is the Hüsrev u Şirîn mesnevity, which is also an important work in terms of reflecting the social and cultural characteristics of the time. The reasons for the parliamentary arrangement, the persons attending the parliament, the tools used in the parliament, the place and time of the parliament, the procedures applicable in the parliament, the events in the parliament have been discussed in detail. These elements highlight the culture and understanding of society’s entertainment, the culture of the kitchen, the traditions and habits.
