Abstract:

The dream has been an important phenomenon of social life throughout human history, from sacred books to various religions, from beliefs to rituals. Especially in the conclusions about the future, it seems that the dream takes a vital function. In the Turkish culture, from the mythical system of belief and thought to the shamanism, from the narratives to the love poem, from the state administration to the supply chains, the dream forms one of the important elements of social life and institutions. The dream that is important enough to determine the daily life of the Turks, even in the pre-Islamic period, even after the acceptance of Islam, has continued to exist in the oral tradition as well as in the written culture. The dream and its interpretations, which have a great influence on the organization and determination of daily life in the Turkish culture, have been translated in the verbal tradition for centuries and the traditional experiences and accumulations of dreams have been written in historical periods. In this context, there are works that are called in the form of the "sleep" in the time written works and translated from the oral tradition concerning the interpretation of the dream. The theme of this study was written in H. 1347 (M. 1928-1929) and was taken from the city of Yarkend in Eastern Turkistan by the Swedish missionary Gunnar Hermansson and donated to the Swedish Lund University Library in 1982. In the article, the subject’s dream character has been studied in terms of content and function, the text has been evaluated by way of the dream comments and the elements related to the days, and at the end of the study, the transcription text and the original text have been added.
