Abstract:

The purpose of the research is to develop the beliefs of self-capacity of classroom teachers candidates to educational practices in museums. The research was carried out by a parallel pattern approach that approached the research patterns of the karma method. In the quantitative dimension in which the research is experimentally designed, it is aimed at developing the self-qualifications of teachers candidates for educational practices in museums. In the quality size of the study, a learning environment that teachers candidates can associate with different disciplines, such as Turkish, mathematics, science, music or visual arts education, is designed to determine the change that occurs during the process in teachers candidates. The research was carried out with 58 (42 women; 16 men) teachers candidates who studied in the second class of a state university located in the Black Sea Region. The research data was obtained through the scale of self-capacity beliefs in museum education and a semi-configured interview form. The research results showed that classroom education teachers candidates are guided to the museum journey process, using the museums as a learning environment, the contents of the course or the museum visit process in accordance with the needs of students and the levels of self-qualification in the planning and processing of the courses in the museums have evolved in a positive direction after the training. In the light of these findings, it is believed that a teaching concept that will be supported by different activities or methods and techniques to be designed in relation to the achievements in the teaching programmes, by associating the museum training practices that will contribute to the professional development process in the faculty that educates teachers should be adopted.
