Bu çalışmanın amacı; 10 yükselen piyasa ekonomisinde 1995-2014 dönemleri arasında finansal gelişme, ekonomik büyüme ve teknolojik gelişmenin çevresel kalite üzerindeki etkisini analiz etmektir. Analizde yatay kesit bağımlılığını göz önünde bulunduran yeni nesil panel veri yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, ilk olarak değişkenlerde ve modelde yatay kesit bağımlılığının olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Daha sonra homojenlik testi uygulanmıştır. Serilerin durağanlık koşulu CADF birim kök testiyle incelenmiştir. Değişkenler arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişki Westerlund ve Edgerton (2007) ve Durbin-H panel eşbütünleşme testiyle analiz edilmiştir. Uzun döneme ait bireysel ve panelin geneline ait eş-bütünleşme katsayıları; Eberhardt ve Bond (2009) tarafından geliştirilen ve yatay kesit bağımlılığını göz önünde bulunduran AMG (Augmented Mean Group Estimator) tahmincisiyle hesaplanmıştır. Panel eşbütünleşme testi sonucunda, finansal gelişme, ekonomik büyüme, teknolojik gelişme ve CO2 emisyonu arasında uzun dönemli ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Panelin genelinde; finansal gelişme ve teknolojik gelişme ile CO2 emisyonu arasında herhangi bir ilişkiye rastlanılmamıştır. Buna karşılık, ekonomik büyüme ve CO2 emisyonu arasında pozitif ve istatistiki olarak anlamlı ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Diğer bir ifadeyle ekonomik büyüme çevresel kaliteyi azaltmaktadır.
The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of financial development, economic growth and technological development on environmental quality in the 10 emerging market economies between the period 1995-2014. The new generation panel data methods, taking into account the horizontal cutting dependency in the analysis, have been used. In the study, it was first studied whether there was horizontal cutting dependency in variables and models. The homogeneity test was subsequently performed. The standing condition of the series is examined by the CADF unit root test. The long-term relationship between the variables was analyzed by the Westerlund and Edgerton (2007) and Durbin-H panel matching test. The long-term individual and panel equalization rates are calculated by an estimate of the AMG (Augmented Mean Group Estimator) developed by Eberhardt and Bond (2009) and taking into account the horizontal cutting dependency. The panel integration test found that there was a long-term relationship between financial development, economic growth, technological development and CO2 emissions. There has been no connection between financial development and technological development and CO2 emissions throughout the panel. On the contrary, there has been a positive and statistically meaningful relationship between economic growth and CO2 emissions. In other words, economic growth reduces the environmental quality.
