Bu araştırmada Kafkas Üniversitesi Dede Korkut Eğitim Fakültesi’nde öğrenim gören son sınıf öğretmen adaylarının sosyal beceri öğretimine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında farklı program türlerinde öğrenim gören 398 son sınıf öğretmen adayı çalışmanın araştırma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu araştırmada gerekli olan verilerin toplanması amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan “Kişisel Bilgi Formu (KBF)” ve Sazak Pınar (2009) tarafından geliştirilen “Sosyal Beceri Öğretimi Bilgi Testi (SBÖBT)” kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin anlamlı hale getirilmesi noktasında betimsel ve anlam çıkartıcı istatistiklerden yararlanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda frekans dağılımları, merkezi eğilim ve değişkenlik ölçüleri araştırmada kullanılan betimsel istatiksel işlemleri oluştururken, öğretmen adaylarının demografik özelliklerinin sosyal beceri öğretimi bilgi düzeylerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla uygun anlam çıkartıcı istatistik tekniğinin belirlenmesi noktasında öncelikle her bir değişkene ait dağılımın normalliğini denetlemek için gerekli olan ön analizler yapılmıştır. Shapiro-Wilk, Kolmogrov-Smirnov ve Çarpıklık-Basıklık değerlerinin incelenmesi sonucunda veri setlerinin normal dağılım göstermedikleri gözlenmiş olup non-parametrik testler kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının sosyal beceri öğretimine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının sosyal beceri öğretimine ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin yaş ve mezun olunan lise türü değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği, cinsiyet ve program türü değişkenleri açısından anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları ışığında, zaman içinde ve yaşam boyu gelişen sosyal becerilerin büyük bir çoğunluğunun 0-18 yaş aralığında gelişmesi nedeniyle özellikle erken çocukluk, orta çocukluk ve ergenlik dönemleri başta olmak üzere farklı potansiyel, fiziksel ve/veya zihinsel özelliklere sahip özel eğitim ihtiyacı olan ve olmayan öğrencilere sosyal becerilerin öğretilmesi noktasında gerek sınıf öğretmenlerinin gerekse de branş öğretmenlerinin hizmet öncesi ve hizmet içi eğitim programlarında sosyal beceri öğretiminin yer alması gerekliliği önemli görülmektedir.
This study aims to study the level of knowledge about the teaching of social skills of the last-class teachers candidates studying at the Dede Korkut Education Faculty of the University of Kafkas. In accordance with this goal, 398 final class teachers candidates who studied in different types of programs in the 2018-2019 educational year have formed a research group of the study. The scan model used this research for the purpose of gathering the necessary data created by the researcher "Personal Information Form (KBF)" and developed by Sazak Pınar (2009) "Social Skills Teaching Information Test (SBÖBT)" was used. The data obtained at the point of making meaningful the visual and meaningful statistics have been used. In this context, the frequency distribution, the central trend and the variability measurements are the visual statistical processes used in the study, while in the point of determination of the appropriate significative statistical technique in order to determine the impact of the demographic characteristics of the teacher candidates on the social skills teaching level of knowledge, the preliminary analyses are first done to monitor the normality of the distribution of each variable. The study of the Shapiro-Wilk, Kolmogrov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Smirnov values found that data sets did not show normal distribution, and non-parametric tests were used. The study found that the level of knowledge of teachers who participated in the research was low. It has also been concluded that the level of knowledge of the teacher candidates regarding the teaching of social skills does not show a significant difference in terms of age and high school type variables graduated, and a significant difference in terms of gender and program type variables. In the light of the research results, the development of a large majority of social skills developing over time and throughout the life between 0-18 years of age, especially in early childhood, middle childhood and adolescence periods, is important that students who are in need of special education with different potential, physical and/or mental characteristics, and not in the point of teaching social skills, whether class teachers need or branch teachers need to include social skills teaching in pre-service and in-service training programs.
In this study, the purpose is to examine the senior preservice teachers’ level of knowledge related to the teaching of social skills. In line with this purpose, the study group consisted of 398 senior preservice teachers who were studying at different types of programs at Kafkas University Dede Korkut Faculty of Education during the 2018-2019 academic year. In this study, in which the survey model was used, the “Personal Data Sheet (PDS)” created by the researcher and the “Social Skill Teaching Knowledge Test (SSTKT)” developed by Sazak Pınar (2009) were used in order to collect the data. Descriptive and inferential statistics were utilized to analyze the data. Within this scope, while the frequency distribution, central tendency, and variation measures constitute the descriptive statistical processes used in the research, first of all, the pre-analyses requiring to examine the normality of the distribution of each variable were conducted when determining the appropriate inferential statistical method in order to define the impact of the demographic properties of the preservice teachers on their level of knowledge related to the teaching of social skills. As a result of the review of Shapiro-Wilk, Kolmogrov-Smirnov, and Skewness-Kurtosis values, it was observed that the data sets did not display any normal distribution, and therefore, non-parametric tests were used. In the analysis of the data, it was found out that the preservice teachers’ level of knowledge related to the teaching of social skills was low. In addition, it was concluded that the preservice teachers’ level of knowledge related to the teaching of social skills did not show any meaningful difference in terms of the variables of age and alma mater, but showed a meaningful difference in terms of the variables of gender and program type. In the light of these findings, since the majority of social skills developing in time and throughout life improves between 0 and 18 ages, social skills should be taught in the preservice and in-service training programs regardless of their study programs at the point of teaching social skills to children with or without special education needs and with different potential, physical, and/or mental qualities during especially early childhood, middle childhood, and adolescence.
