Purpose: Due to the absence of a sufficiently successful vaccine or treatment of AIDS, it is necessary to fight AIDS control, first of all, with prejudices through education. With this study in Istanbul or Silivri district Silivri High School students: learning the existing knowledge and behavior related to AIDS, informing students with different educational methods (interactive, classic) about AIDS, comparing the knowledge and behavior changes between groups (pre-training and post-training) and groups (interactive, classic, controlled, i.e. non-training), evaluating the effects of different educational methods on the stigma related to AIDS of students and reflecting the study results to other health training in the area. Tools and Methods: The research, which is an intervention-based field study, was conducted in 2004 at Silivri High School students at Silivri Center. The information and predictions of students (n=120) about AIDS were evaluated using the observed response technique (pre-test) with a multi-question interview form. Students were trained with different educational methods (Interactive Group:37, Classical Group: 42 and Control Group: 41). To evaluate the effect of different training methods, the last test, which was the same for the pre-test, was applied a month after the completion of the training program. Results: The total score of the group's known pathways of AIDS before training was 11.98±2.31 after 13.81±2.19 (p=0,0001). The group’s total stigma score was 3.6±2.6 before training, 2.0±2.3 after training (p=0,0001). The variable percentage of predictions was calculated at 67.99±23.88 in the interactive group, and at 39.12±29.98 in the classical group at 13,06±17,35 (p=0,001). The difference between the post-hoc LSD and the interactive group and the classical group was significant (p=0,013). Conclusion: Aids training through interactive methods improves both the knowledge and the protection against predictions against AIDS. Classical educational methods increase awareness about AIDS, but their effects on predictions are limited
