İzmir Selçuk ilçe merkezinde yer alan Ayasuluk Tepesi daha çok günümüzde ayakta olan Aydınoğulları Dönemine tarihlenen Kale ve Bizans Dönemine ait St Jean bazilikası ile tanınmaktadır. Yerleşimin bilinen bu tarihinin yanı sıra Kalenin altında kalan höyük yerleşimi Geç Kalkolitik Döneme uzanan bir iskân sürecini ortaya koymaktadır. Ayasuluk Tepesi’nin farklı noktalarında yapılan çalışmalarda Geç Tunç Çağı’na tarihlenen arkeolojik materyaller açığa çıkartılmıştır. Söz konusu buluntular Batı Anadolu Geç Tunç Çağı materyal kültürünün yanı sıra Apaşa ile ilgili tartışmalara da katkı sağlaması bakımından önem taşımaktadır.
