Abstract:

The National Park of the Kaçkar Mountains is one of the most important natural areas of Turkey, and with its close surroundings, it is recognized not only nationally, but internationally in terms of wildlife, plant wealth and geomorphological formations. As a result of these features, the World Nature Conservation Foundation (WWF) has ranked the 200 ecological areas to be protected in the world. Furthermore, the scattering activity and archaeological works that have been held in the area for centuries add a very privileged historical and folklore value to the area. On the other hand, the mountains also offer significant potential in the direction of tourism. So from the most difficult to the easiest, there are plenty of walking paths and the suitable area for camping, ice and peak climbing areas available. In this context, it has the heights of Kaçkar (3,932 m) and Verçenik (3,709 m), which are not only the east Black Sea but also among the highest heights of our country, and the current glaciers, ice lakes and boat valleys on these heights. In addition to this, the current cover area in the Ayder Tourism Center is also one of the important attractions that attract attention.
