Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin (ABD) savunma ve dış politikasın- da Asya-Pasifik veya son dönemde moda olan tabirle Hint-Pasifik bölgesine doğru olan ilgi kayması devam ediyor. Öyle ki, Ortado- ğu bölgesi ve Afganistan gibi ülkelerdeki askeri varlığı konusunda son yıllarda azaltmaya giden ABD, Asya-Pasifik bölgesinde ise hem kendi askeri mevcudiyetini arttırıyor, hem de bölgedeki tarihsel müt- tefikleriyle yaptığı anlaşma ve paktlarla bölgenin yükselen gücü Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti’ne (kısaca Çin) karşı pazılarını gösteriyor. Bu ya- zıda, ABD’nin Asya-Pasifik bölgesine yönelik iki önemli girişimi olan QUAD ve AUKUS temelinde ABD’nin Çin politikasını yorum- lamaya çalışacağım.
The U.S. (US) defence and foreign policy continues to shift interest towards the Indo-Pacific region with a fashion in the Asia-Pacific or recent times. Thus, the U.S., which has been reducing its military presence in countries such as the Middle East and Afghanistan in recent years, has increased its military presence in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the region’s rising power with its historical dealings and pact shows its markets against the People’s Republic of China (in short, China). I will try to comment on the U.S. Chinese policy on the basis of QUAD and AUKUS, which are the two major efforts of the U.S. towards the Asia-Pacific region.
