Abstract:

The aim of this research is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine the motivations of high school students for the Turkish course. For the purpose of developing the scale, 493 women, 537 men, who are studying in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th classes in four different high schools in the center of the province of Sivas, were included in the 1030 student working group. Structural equality modeling has been used to determine the factor structure of the measurement. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of the measurement was .935, while Bartlett's Globality Test value was *χ2=16888,796; df=2628, p<.000. The Cronbach’s Alpha confidence rate is .97, the internal motivation factor is .89, the target motivation factor is .89, the external motivation factor is .86 and the total motivation factor is .89. It was found 95.

The aim of this study, it was aimed to develop a measurement tool to determine the success motivation of Turkish course for secondary school students. In order to develop the scale, 1030 students studying in 5, 6, 7 and 8 grades in four different secondary schools in Sivas city center were included in the study group. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of the scale was .935 and Bartlett's Sphericity Test value was *χ2=16888,796; df=2628,  p<.000. Factor analysis was performed after determining the convenience of these values to the factor analysis of the scale. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be .97 in the sub-dimension of amotivation, .89 in the sub-dimension of intrinsic motivation, .89 in the sub-dimension of the goal motivation, .86 in the sub-dimension of extrinsic motivation and .95 in the total items. Based on these findings, it can be said that the scale measures the level of motivation that is valid, reliable, and that it wants to measure.
