Bu araştırma, okul öncesi eğitimin ilköğretimdeki başarı üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılı Diyarbakır il merkezinde görev yapan sınıf öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise Diyarbakır il merkezinde görev yapan sınıf öğretmenlerinden random yoluyla seçilen sınıf öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup, sonuç için gerekli verilerin toplanması amacıyla, sınıf öğretmenlerine uygulanmak üzere araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulmuş kişisel bilgilerden, beşli likert tipi 39 maddeden oluşmaktadır. Anket için bir ön uygulama yapılmıştır. Gerekli geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmalarının ardından çıkarılması uygun görülen iki madde çıkarılmıştır. Kişisel bilgiler, likert tipinde hazırlanmış 37 madden oluşan anket formu Diyarbakır il merkezinde görev yapan tesadüfi olarak seçilen 400 sınıf öğretmenine uygulanmıştır. Ancak anketlerden 318’i geri dönmüş ve değerlendirmeye uygun olmayan anketler çıkarıldıktan sonra 310 anket değerlendirilerek veriler elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS for Windows paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma için yapılan analizler sonucunda; sınıf öğretmenlerinin genel olarak okul öncesi eğitim hakkında pozitif düşüncelere sahip oldukları, okul öncesi eğitimin ilköğretimdeki başarı üzerindeki olumlu etkilerine katıldıkları görülmüştür. Öğretmenler okul öncesi eğitimden geçerek sınıflarına gelen öğrencilerle okul öncesi eğitim almayan öğrenciler arasında gerek sosyal açıdan gerekse öğrenme yaşantılarına katılım ve başarı açısından kolaylıkla gözlenebilir farklılıklar olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Araştırmanın sonucunda okul öncesi eğitimin çocukların sosyal, fiziksel, bilişsel, ahlaki ve dil gelişimlerine olumlu yönde etkileri olmakla birlikte akademik başarılarını da olumlu yönde etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılabilir. Bunun yanı sıra öğretmenler okul öncesi eğitime gereken önem ve katılımın henüz yeteri kadar sağlanamadığını belirtmişler ve hem velilerin ve eğitimcilerin hem de yetkili kişilerin okul öncesi eğitime katılımının en üst düzeye ulaştırılabilmesi için gereken çalışmaların yapılması şeklinde önerilerde bulunmuşlardır.
This research was done to determine the impact of pre-school education on success in elementary education. The universe of research is made up of class teachers who work in the Diyarbakır district center in the 2010-2011 educational year. The examples of the study are formed by class teachers randomly chosen from the class teachers who work in the Diyarbakır province center. The research is in the scan model and consists of personal information created by the researcher to apply to classmates for the purpose of collecting the necessary data for the outcome, five-type likert of 39 items. A preliminary application for the survey was made. There are two kinds of things that are appropriate to do after the work of validity and reliability. Personal information, the survey form consisting of 37 items prepared in the likert type, was applied to 400 class teachers randomly chosen to work in the Diyarbakır province center. However, 318 of the surveys returned and non-evaluable surveys were removed after 310 surveys were evaluated and data were obtained. The data obtained was analyzed in the computer environment with the SPSS for Windows package program. The analysis for the study found that classmates generally have positive opinions about pre-school education and are involved in the positive effects of pre-school education on their success in primary education. Teachers have pointed out that there are differences that can be easily observed between students who come to their classes through pre-school education and students who do not have pre-school education, whether socially or in learning experiences and in terms of participation and success. The research finds that pre-school education has a positive impact on the social, physical, cognitive, moral and linguistic development of children, but also has a positive impact on their academic achievements. In addition, teachers pointed out that the importance and involvement needed to pre-school education has not yet been sufficiently achieved and recommended the work needed to bring both parents and educators and authorized persons to the highest level of participation in pre-school education.
This research is made for determining the effects of pre-school education on the success in primary school. The population of the research consists of classroom teachers working in the city center of Diyarbakır in 2010-2011 educational year. The sample of the research consists of randomly-chosen the classroom teachers working in the city center of Diyarbakır. The research is a descriptive survey model. The questionnaire, which has personal information, thirty-nine items at the type of 5-likert was prepared by the researcher to collect the necessary data. A pre-application was made for the questionnaire and after the necessary validity and reliability studies, two items which were found” omit table” were omitted. The questionnaire form was applied to four hundred classroom teachers which are randomly-selected from the classroom teachers working in the city center of Diyarbakır. However, three hundred of them have come back and the data were collected by evaluating three hundred ten questionnaires after omitting the questionnaires which are not suitable for evaluation. The data which were obtained were analyzed statistically by the “SPSS for Windows” computer programme. When the results are examined, it has been seen that the classroom teachers have the positive ideas about the pre-school education and agree with the effects of the pre-school education on the success in primary school. The teachers point out that there can be easily seen differences between the ones who have experienced the pre-school education and the ones who don’t get the education as social aspect as the success and the attribution to the experiences of learning. As a result of the research, it can be reached that pre-school education affects the children’s social, physical, cognitive, ethical and language development in addition to academic success positively. Besides, the teachers clarify that the necessary importance and participation haven’t been supplied yet and they suggest that necessary studies should be made to maximize the participation of both parents, educationalists, and authorized people.
