Abstract:

All nations have their own historical and cultural heritage. One of the important cultural heritage that our country possesses is handwriting works. Writing works, our most valuable cultural treasures, are important resources for researchers in science, art and culture. The storage, preservation, catalogue, repair of the destroyed and transportation to future generations are of great importance for the preservation of our national culture. There are many handwriting centers in our country, amongst some universities. Some of these universities have a memorable handwriting collection. The University of Istanbul is also among the universities that have handwriting works in its interior. In this article, a catalogue of 1615 Persian works found in the Istanbul University's Rare Works Library, which has a rich Persian collection in both numerical and subjective terms, is prepared, miniature assets are indicated and interesting information about important items is provided.
