Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to determine the effects of their parents’ ways of coping with stress in determining the psychological symptoms of students in the middle school who are punished by discipline. The study universe of the research is formed by students in the middle school in the small-scale district of Istanbul. The sample group consists of 52 students who have been punished by the disciplinary board, and the parents of these students, according to the Rules of Secondary Education. The research is designed according to the relative scanning model. The sample of the study was created by random sample selection. The data of the study was obtained using liquid-type scales. The study used a 'Personal Information Form' created for both students and their parents. In addition, while the 'Short Symptoms Inventory' for students was used, the 'States of Combating Stress Scale' for their parents was used. The 'Short Symptom Inventory' has found a meaningful relationship between the subdimensions of desperate approach and necklace approach in a positive direction and a medium level. There has been a meaningful relationship between the low-dimensions of anxiety and the desperate approach and the low-dimensions of necklace approach in the positive direction and the middle level. When the t-test results on the significance of the regression ratings are studied, it is found that the neck-changing approach is a meaningful indicator on the short symptom.
