Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrencilerin yaşam temelli biyolojiye yönelik motivasyonlarını belirleyen geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Yöntem: Bu çalışmada tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmacı tarafından öncelikle ilgili alan yazın taranmış ve buna göre öncül maddeler hazırlanarak 40 maddelik bir madde havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Madde havuzu oluşturulduktan sonra uzman görüşü alınarak ölçeğin deneme formu hazırlanmıştır. 5’li Likert tipinde hazırlanan ölçeğin deneme formu Kocaeli il merkezindeki bir lisede öğrenim gören toplam 209 (102 kız, 107 erkek) öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Uygulama sonrası elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda ölçeğin geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Ölçeğin geçerlik aşamalarında yapılan madde analizi ve açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonrasında ölçeğin toplam varyansın %50.718’ ini açıklayan ve 34 maddeden oluşan üç faktörlü bir yapıya sahip olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ölçeğin güvenirlik analizlerinde Cronbach Alpha iç tutarlık katsayısı hesaplanmış ve 0.943 değeri bulunmuştur. Sonuçlar ve Öneriler: Çalışmada elde edilen bu bulgular, bu ölçme aracının öğrencilerin yaşam temelli biyolojiye yönelik motivasyonlarını belirlemede geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğunu göstermektedir.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale that determines the motivations of students towards life-based biology. Method: The scan method was used in this study. For this purpose, the researchers first scaned the area in the summer and according to this, a material pool of 40 materials was created by preparing the first materials. After the material pool was created, the experimental form of the scale was prepared with the expert opinion. The experimental form of the scale prepared in Likert type 5 was applied to a total of 209 (102 girls, 107 men) students who studied at a high school in the center of Kocaeli. According to the data obtained after the application, validity and reliability of the scale were analyzed. Results: After the substance analysis and the explanatory factor analysis in the validity stages of the scale, it was revealed that the scale has a three-factor structure that explains up to 50.718% of the total variance and consists of 34 matters. In the reliability analysis of the measurement, the internal consistency ratio of Cronbach Alpha was calculated and found a value of 0.943. Results and Recommendations: These findings in the study show that this measurement tool is a valid and reliable scale in determining the motivations of students towards life-based biology.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable scale determining the students’ motivations towards context-based biology. Design & Methodology: In the study, survey method has been used. For this aim, previously literature was examined by the research and the 40 item-draft scale was prepared by taking the expert opinion for these initial items. This draft scale, which was a five-point Likert type, applied to totally 209 (102 female, 107 male) students attended to a secondary school in Kocaeli. The validity and reliability analysis of the scale was done in the light of the data obtained after the treatment. Findings: In the result of the item analysis and the exploratory factor analysis, it was found that the scale had a construct of 3 factors with 34 items and the total variance explained was 50.718%. Additionally, Cronbach Alpha internal consistency was calculated for the reliability analyzes of the scale and it was found as .943 for the whole scale. Implications & Suggestions: In line with your research results, it was implied that this scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining the students’ motivations towards context-based biology.
