Abstract:

Since the period when socio-economic production-consumption styles of societies were intertwined with nature, one of the important factors shaping culture has been the physical environment in which we live. Accordingly, natural events, especially seasonal transitions, closely related to human life. In the Northern Hemisphere, with the awakening of nature in the spring, the proliferation of animals and the cultivation of the soil led to the development of various cultural events. The resulting beliefs and practices have existed under the roof of Nevruz Holiday since the past. In this article we will focus on the tradition of a sort when Martenici constitutes an element of social memory as the Turks living in Bulgaria via Turkey to transport. In this context, it is aimed to discuss a form of cultural exchange and social memory transfer around the phenomenon of migration. In the article, the public information collection methods of the survey questionnaire prepared by the method in Bulgaria in Bulgaria and relatives living in Turkey is taken on the issue of resource persons who commute information. In addition, written and electronic resources were scanned and data were evaluated using the document analysis technique. In the examination, it was concluded that martençka is a spring festival tradition in the Balkans and that the tradition bears the traces of ancient culture. Bracelets and other ornaments made in red and white are used throughout March to welcome the arrival of spring. Awakening and renewal with spring is symbolized by martençk. Social identity has been preserved through the elements in the memory of the folk culture along with the migration. Nowruz celebrations around the joint so that the basic values of Turkish culture through the form of Martenici intertwined with Bulgarian tradition it has been moved to Turkey.
