Toplumların inanç, tarih ve geleneklerinin önemli bir yansıması da kendini yer isimlerinde gösterir. Türkiye'de yer isimleri alanında şehir ve yerleşim yerleri üzerine epeyce çalışma yapılmıştır. Ancak daha özelde köyler üzerine yapılmış hemen hiç çalışma bulunmamaktadır. Bu konuda sadece bir makale tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada Kurucaabat köyü arazisinde bir kaynak kişiden 124 mevki adı derlenmiştir. Derlenen isimlerin tasnifinde kökenleri bakımından Kurgun (2007) ve kaynaklıkları açısından Küçüktuncer'in (2020) çalışmaları esas alınmıştır. Tasnif edilen isimlerin yoğunlukları tablolarla gösterilmiş ve yorumları yapılmıştır. Derlenen isimlerin dağılımına bakıldığında kaynaklıkları açısından Kurucaabat köyü yer adlarının 26 maddeden 18’inde ve kökenleri bakımından ise 18 maddeden 16’sında bulunduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Kökenlerine göre en yoğun alanlar yükselti, bitki adı, tanımlayıcı adlardır. Kaynaklıklarına göre ise en yoğun maddeler dağ, tepe ve ova isimleriyle coğrafi konum ve bitki örtüsü olmuştur.
A significant reflection of the beliefs, history and traditions of societies also shows itself in the place names. In Turkey, a lot of work has been done on towns and settlements in the field of land names. However, there is no more specific work done on the villages. There was only one article on this issue. In the study, a source in the village of Kurucaabat was named 124 places. In the classification of the assembled names, Kurgun (2007) and the work of Küçükktuncer (2020) were based in terms of their origins. The intensity of the designated names was displayed with tables and the comments were made. In terms of the distribution of the assembled names, the Kurucaabat village in terms of its sources, in terms of the 26 of its land names, in terms of its origins and in terms of its origins. It was found in 16 of 18 articles. According to their origins, the most intense areas have risen, the name of the plant, are the identifying names. According to their sources, the most intense material was the geographical location and plant cover with the names of mountains, mountains and ovas.

In the study, 124 toponyms were compiled from a source in the Kurucaabat village. In the classification of the compiled names, the studies of Kurgun (2007) in terms of their origins and Küçüktuncer (2020) in terms of their sources were taken as a basis. The densities of the classified names are shown with tables and their interpretations are made. Considering the distribution of the compiled names, it was revealed that Kurucaabat village land names were found in 18 of 26 items in ts of their sources and in 16 of 18 items in terms of their origins. The densest areas according to their origin are altitude, plant name, and descriptive names. According to their sources, the densest substances were geographical location and vegetation along with the names of mountains, hills, and plains.
