Bu çalışmada Klasik dönem Osmanlı şehzadelerinden Şehzade Korkut’un katli inceleme konusu yapılmıştır. Öncelikle Sultan II Bayezid’in oğlu, Sultan Selim’in ağabeyi Şehzade Korkut’un doğumu, sünneti, saltanat vekâleti, Manisa ve Antalya sancakbeylikleri ile Mısır’a gidişi hakkında bilgi verilmiş, II. Bayezid’in hayatta kalan şehzadeleri Ahmed, Selim ve Korkut arasında meydana gelen rekabet üzerinde durularak bu rekabetin asli gerekçesini teşkil eden şehzadelerin olası bir iktidar değişikliğinde tahta sahip olmak için hazırlıklı olma çabalarına ve bu uğurda verdikleri mücadelelere değinilmiştir. Ayrıca Şehzade Korkut’un bu mücadeleler içerisinde nasıl var olmaya çalıştığı, bu mücadelede yürüttüğü siyaset ve bu siyasetin sonucunda meydana gelen hadiseler üzerinde durulmuştur. Sultan Selim’in tahtı ele geçirişine bağlı olarak oluşan siyasal ortam, Korkut’un kardeşi Sultan Selim ile gerçekleştirmiş olduğu ittifak ve Sultan Selim’in iktidarını tanımayarak başkaldıran Şehzade Ahmed’in Sultan Selim ile olan mücadelesinde Korkut’un nasıl bir politika izlediği, kendisiyle Sultan Selim’e karşı ittifak yapma girişimlerinde bulunan Ahmed’e karşı geliştirdiği yaklaşım ve kardeşi Selim’e muhalefet ettiği-etmeye müsait olduğu gibi çıkan dedikoduların gerçeği yansıtmadığını ispatlama çabası, yeğen şehzadelerin Sultan Selim’in cülusuna bağlı olarak gelip amcalarına biat etmiş olmalarına rağmen katledilmeleri ve bu katillerin Şehzade Korkut üzerinde meydana getirdiği korku ele alınmıştır. Devamında ise Şehzade Korkut’u katle götüren sürecin nedenleri, şehzadenin kardeşi Sultan Selim’e sadakat ekseninde bir yaklaşım sergilemiş olmasına rağmen nasıl ve ne gibi gerekçelerle katline hükmedildiği, şehzadenin bu katil hükmü karşısında sergilediği tepkiler ve canını kurtarmak için giriştiği mücadele, yakalanıp katledilmesi ve bu katle sebep teşkil ettiği iddia edilen kimi isnatlar üzerinde tetkikler yapılmıştır.
In this study, the subject of the massive investigation of the City of Korkut from the Classical Ottoman township was made. First of all, the son of Sultan II Bayezid, the brother of Sultan Selim, was given information about the birth, synthesis, sovereignty, Manisa and Antalya sancakbeylikes and the departure to Egypt, II. Bayezid's survivors are focused on the competition that occurs between Ahmed, Selim and Korkut and the efforts of the citizens who are the original reason for this competition are referred to in the efforts of being prepared to possess a threshold in a possible change of power and the struggles they do for this purpose. It is also focused on how the Cehzade Korkut tried to exist in these struggles, the politics he carried out in this struggle and the events that occurred as a result of this policy. The political environment formed depending on Sultan Selim's throne capture, the coalition Korkut's brother Sultan Selim and the rebellion of the Sultan Selim's power without recognizing the power of the Sultan Ahmed's struggle with Sultan Selim, how Korkut followed a policy, the approach he developed against Ahmed in the attempts to make a alliance with Sultan Selim and the rumors that came out as opposed to his brother Selim are not available to be reflected in the truth, the grandfather of the city had been killed in the struggle with Sultan Selim's culls and the grandmother of the city had been killed in the struggle with Sultan Selim's culls and the grandmother of the city had been killed in the struggle. On the other hand, the causes of the process that took the Korkut to the massacre, although the city's brother Sultan Selim has shown an approach in the axis of loyalty, how and for what reasons he was sentenced to the massacre, the reactions that the city's massacre showed against this murder judgment and the struggle he entered to save his life, the arrest and murder, and the alleged causes of this massacre, have been investigated.
In this study, the execution of Sehzade Korkut, who is one of the sehzades in Ottoman classical era, is researched. Firstly, as the son of Sultan Bayezid and the older brother of Sultan Selim, Sehzade Korkut’s birth, his circumcision feast, his deputize for the Sultan, his duties as Manisa and Antalya flagbanner (Sancakbeyi) and his outgoing to Egypt are contextually analyzed, and also by emphasizing the rivalry between living sons of Beyazid II, namely Ahmed, Selim, and Korkut, their efforts of being prepared for the throne in case of a possible change in power and their struggle for the sake of this purpose is mentioned. Besides, how Sehzade Korkut tried to exist in these struggles, his politics during these struggles and the events that were the results of his politics are discussed. Depending on the political environment after Sultan Selim’s accession to the throne, Korkut’s alliance with his brother Sultan Selim and his political approach towards the struggle of Sultan Selim and Sehzade Ahmed, who doesn’t acknowledge the power of Sultan Selim and rebels, his attitude towards Sehzade Ahmed who attempted to form alliance with him and his efforts to deny the rumors about his opposition or his readiness to oppose Sultan Selim, the execution of nephew sehzades in spite of their obedience to their uncle depending on the Sultan Selim’s enthronement and the terror that seized Sehzade Korkut because of these executions are also discussed in this context. Afterwards, the reasons of the process that leaded the death of Sehazde Korkut, how and on what grounds he was condemned to be killed in spite of his obedience towards his brother Sultan Selim, the reactions of the sehzade to this act of condemning and his struggle to save his life, his being captured and killed and some exceptions that are claimed to be the reasons of this execution are examined.
