Barbara Jelavıch, Balkan Tarihi (20.. Yüzyıl) Cilt:2 adlı bu çalışmasında, daha önce konusu çerçevesinde ele aldığı birinci ciltte, Balkan uluslarının Osmanlı idaresindeki yapısını ele alarak 19. yüzyıl siyasi arenasına kadar getirmiştir. Bu çalışmasında ise daha önceki çalışmasının bir davamı olarak Balkan Uluslarının son dönemini bütüncün bir çerçevede işleyerek Osmanlı son dönemi Balkan coğrafyasında meydana gelen olayları I. Dünya savaşı çerçevesinde başlatarak, II. Dünya Savaşına giden süreçteki tutumları ve son dönem Balkan uluslarının tarihi geçmişini aramıştır. Giriş kısmı ile başlayan bu kitap iki kısım içerisinde on bölümden oluşmaktadır. Sonuç ve kaynakça kısmı ile çalışmaya son vermiştir.
Barbara Jelavıch, in this work called History of the Balkans (the 20th century), in the first quarter he previously addressed in the framework of the topic, addressed the structure of the Balkans in the Ottoman administration and brought it to the political arena of the 19th century. In this work, as a continuation of his previous work, the last period of the Balkan nations was processed in a comprehensive framework and the Ottoman last period began the events that occurred in the Balkan geography in the framework of the First World War II. His attitudes in the course of the World War and his recent history of the Balkan nations have been searching for. This book, which begins with the entrance part, consists of ten parts in two parts. He ended his work with the result and source.
