HALKLA İLİŞKİLER ARACI OLARAK SOSYAL MEDYA: KAMU VE VAKIF ÜNİVERSİTE HASTANELERİNİN FACEBOOK KULLANIMI ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Abstract:

Sağlık alanında birçok bilgiyi bireyler artık internet ortamından öğrenebilmektedir. İnternetten öğrenilen bilgilerin doğruluğu ve güvenilirliği bu anlamda önemlidir. Bireylerin doğru ve güvenilir bilgiye ulaşmasında hastanelerin önemli rolü vardır. Günümüzde kurum ve kuruluşlar hedef kitleleri ile geleneksel iletişim araçlarının yanı sıra sosyal medya araçlarını da kullanarak iletişim kurmaktadırlar. Sağlık okuryazarlığının artmasına katkı sağlayan hastanelerin hedef kitleleri ile nasıl iletişim kurdukları ve bu iletişimi nasıl sürdürdükleri önem taşımaktadır. Özellikle sağlık alanında hizmet veren kurumların sağlık, hastalık, bilinçli beslenme alanında bilgilendirme amaçlı enformasyonları sosyal medyada paylaşması sağlıklı bir toplum oluşturulması açısından önemlidir. Ayrıca sosyal medya diğer kitle iletişim araçlarına göre hızlı ve düşük maliyetli özelliğiyle halkla ilişkiler uygulamalarına avantaj sağlamaktadır. Bunların yanı sıra, hedef kitlenin düşünceleri hakkında bilgi edinme olanağı sunması kuruluşları sosyal medya araçlarını kullanmaya yönlendirmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın konusunu kamu ve vakıf üniversitelerine bağlı hastanelerin sosyal medyayı nasıl kullandıkları oluşturmaktadır. Hastanelerin Facebook hesapları içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiş ve ardından elde edilen bilgiler değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak kamu üniversite hastanelerinin çoğunluğunun sosyal medyayı aktif olarak kullanmadıkları belirlenmiştir. Kullananların ise, daha çok duyuru, hastane çalışmaları, kongre, seminer gibi içerikleri paylaştıkları, vakıf üniversitesi hastanelerinin sosyal medyayı aktif olarak kullandıkları ve sağlıkla ilgili bilgilendirici içerikleri daha fazla paylaştıkları tespit edilmiştir. Vakıf üniversitesi hastanelerinin Facebook'un çift yönlü iletişim özelliğinden de faydalandığı, kamu üniversite hastanelerinin Facebook'u sadece bilgi paylaşımı amacıyla kullandığı, takipçileri ile iletişim kurmadığı da belirlenmiştir.

A lot of information can be learned on the Internet. The accuracy and reliability of the information learned from the Internet is important in this sense. Hospitals play an important role in getting accurate and reliable information to individuals. Today, institutions and organizations communicate with their target audiences and using traditional means of communication as well as social media tools. The importance of how hospitals that contribute to the increase in health readiness communicate with their target audiences and how they maintain this communication. It is especially important for the institutions that serve in the field of health to share information in the field of health, disease, conscious nutrition on social media for the creation of a healthy society. Social media also provides advantages to public relations practices with its fast and low-cost features compared to other mass communication means. In addition to this, it provides the opportunity to learn about the thoughts of the target audience that guides organizations to use social media tools. In this context, the subject of the study is how public and foundation universities associated hospitals use social media. The Facebook accounts of hospitals have been examined by the content analysis method and the information obtained afterwards has been evaluated. As a result, it has been determined that most public university hospitals do not actively use social media. The users have been found to share more content such as advertisements, hospital studies, congresses, seminars, the foundation university hospitals actively use social media and share more information about health. The foundation university hospitals also benefit from the dual communication feature of Facebook, the public university hospitals use Facebook only for information sharing purposes, and do not communicate with their followers.

Hospitals play an important role in reaching accurate and reliable information on health. Today, institutions and organizations communicate with their target audiences using traditional means of communication and also social media tools. It is important how hospitals that contribute to the increase of health literacy communicate with their target audience and how they maintain this communication. It is especially important for health institutions to share information on health, disease and conscious nutrition in social media. In addition, social media offers advantages to public relations with its fast and low-cost features compared to other mass media. In addition, opportunity for target audience to obtain information about their thoughts leads organizations to use social media tools. In this context, subject of study is how hospitals using public and private universities use social media. Facebook accounts of the hospitals were analyzed by content analysis method and then the data obtained was evaluated. As a result, it was determined that majority of public university hospitals did not actively use social media. It was determined that those who used it shared more content such as announcements, hospital studies, congresses and seminars, and that foundation university hospitals actively used social media and shared more informative contents about health. It has also been determined that private university hospitals also benefit from Facebook's bidirectional communication, and that public university hospitals only use Facebook to share information and not communicate with their followers.
