Abstract:

Kullanımlar ve Doyumlar Yaklaşımı bağlamında bireyin kendi medya içeriğini oluşturabilmesine, aynı anda çok yönlü olarak çok kişiyle iletişim kurabilmesine ve kendi sosyal çevre ve iletişim ağını oluşturabilmesine imkân sağlayan sosyal medya bireye küresel bir alan yaratmaktadır. Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal medya kullanımına ilişkin bulguların belirlenmesi ve sosyal medya kullanım motivasyonu, boş zaman doyumu ve yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemeyi amaçlayan nicel verilere dayalı bu araştırma genel ve ilişkisel tarama modelinde kurgulanmıştır. Araştırma evreni, Akdeniz Üniversitesi 2019 yılında fakültelerde öğrenim gören öğrenciler (α=35.038) olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada Akdeniz Üniversitesi’ne bağlı fakültelerde öğrenim gören öğrencileri temsil eden öğrenciler (α=582) evrenden kolayda örnekleme alma yöntemiyle seçilmiştir. Araştırmada öğrencilerin sosyal medya kullanım motivasyonu, boş zaman doyumu ve yaşam doyumu arasındaki ilişkileri incelenmiştir. Yapılan çalışmada sosyal medya kullanım motivasyonu ile boş zaman doyumu arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu, bununla birlikte sosyal medya kullanım motivasyonu ile yaşam doyumu arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığı saptanmıştır.

Abstract:

The Social Media Approach creates a global space for the individual, which allows the individual to create their own media content, to communicate with multiple people simultaneously and to create their own social environment and communication network. This study aims to identify the findings about the use of social media by university students and to reveal the relationship between the motivation to use social media, the leisure time satisfaction and life satisfaction. Based on quantitative data aimed at determining the relationship between these variables, this study was founded in the general and relative scan model. The research university, the University of the Mediterranean, was determined as students studying at faculties in 2019 (α=35.038) . Students who represent students studying at the Mediterranean University faculties in the study (α=582) were selected by the easy sampling method from the universe. The study studied the relationship between the motivation of students to use social media, leisure contentment and life contentment. The study found that there is a statistically meaningful relationship between social media use motivation and leisure time satisfaction, but there is no meaningful relationship between social media use motivation and life satisfaction.

In the context of the Uses and Gratifications Approach, social media creates a global space for the individual, enabling the individual to create his / her own media content, to communicate with many people at the same time, and to create his / her own social environment and communication network. In this study, it was aimed to determine the findings about the use of social media by university students and to reveal the relationship between social media use motivation, leisure time satisfaction and life satisfaction. This research, based on quantitative data, which aims to determine the relationship between these variables, has been designed in general and relational survey model. The population (α= 35,038) of the research was determined as students studying at the faculties of Akdeniz University in the 2019 year. In the research, the students representing the students studying at the faculties of Akdeniz University (α = 582) were selected from the universe with the convenience sampling method. The relationship between students' motivation to use social media, leisure time satisfaction and life satisfaction was examined in the study. In the study, it was determined that there is a statistically significant relationship between social media use motivation and leisure time satisfaction, however there is no significant relationship between social media use motivation and life satisfaction.
