Bu araştırmanın amacı Türkiye’de engelli çocuğa sahip ailelerin yapısını, toplumsal ilişkilerini belirlemektir. Tarama modelinde betimsel olan bu araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen Engelli Çocuğu Olan Ailelerin Profili Anketi (EÇEPA) kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda Ankara ilindeki merkez ilçelerden 342 ebeveynle çalışılmıştır. Toplanan veriler SPSS-21 paket programına işlenmiş ve bu program yardımı ile analiz edilmiştir. Anketlerden elde edilen veriler frekans ve yüzde olarak analiz edilmiş, bazı demografik özelliklere göre anket maddelerindeki dağılım düzeyleri arasındaki farklılığa ki-kare analizleri ile bakılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre engelli bir çocuğa sahip olmak ailelerin yapısını, işleyişini, toplumsal ilişkilerini süreçlerini etkilemektedir. Ancak engelli çocuğa sahip ailelerin bu özellikleri toplumun kendilerine yönelik davranışlarını algılama dışında benzer sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel tabakadaki ailelerden çok da farklı bir görünüm taşımamaktadır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar tartışma ve sonuç kısmında geniş bir şekilde ele alınmıştır.
The aim of this study is to determine the structure of families with disabled children in Turkey, their social relationships. This study, which is illustrated in the screening model, used the Profile Survey of Families with Disabled Children (ECEPA) developed by researchers as a data collection tool. In this framework, 342 parents from the central districts of Ankara have worked. The data collected was processed in the SPSS-21 package program and analyzed with the help of this program. The data obtained from the surveys were analyzed as frequency and percentage, and according to some demographic characteristics the difference between the levels of distribution in the surveys materials was viewed by quarter analysis. Research finds that having a disabled child affects family structure, function, and social relationships. However, these characteristics of families with disabled children do not have a very different appearance than families in the similar socio-economic and cultural layer, except in the perception of the behavior of society towards themselves. The results from the study were widely discussed in the discussion and results section.
