Delhi Türk Sultanlığı 1206-1414 yılları arasında Hindistan´da Delhi merkez olmak üzere büyük bir çoğunluğu Türk olan hanedanlar tarafından yönetilmiştir. Delhi Türk Sultanlığı´nda, yönetici kesim yerli halktan oluşmayıp devlet teşkilatı, memlûk sistemi üzerine gelişme göstermiştir. Belirtilen zaman aralığında Türklerin varlığı, Hindistan´ın siyasi, askeri, iktisadi ve kültürel hayatı üzerinde azımsanmayacak ölçüde etkili olmuştur. Bu devlette saltanatın veraset ile intikaline itibar edilmemekteydi. Dolayısıyla kendisinde hükümdar olma arzusu taşıyan emirler/komutanlar için iktidarın yeni sahibi olmak, oldukça cazip idi. Sultanlığın üst pozisyonlarında yer alan ve çoğunlukla sultandan sonra en yetkili makam sahibi olan saltanat naipleri için devletin sahip olduğu bu iktidar anlayışı, onları diğer emirlerden farklı olarak iktidar için daha fazla istekli kılmıştır. Delhi Türk Sultanlığı´nda saltanat naipliği makamı, kuruluşundan on dördüncü yüzyıl başına kadar yani Tuğluk hanedanlığı dönemine kadar etkili olmuştur. Delhi Türk Sultanlığı´nda saltanat naipleri, makamlarının kendilerine tanımış olduğu geniş yetkiler ile güçlü birer emirdiler. Ancak onlar bu güçlerini, sadece makamın kendilerine vermiş olduğu güçten almamaktaydılar. Bu çalışmada, Delhi Türk Sultanlığı bürokrasisinde yer alan saltanat naiplerinin iktidar üzerinde nasıl ve ne ölçüde etkili olduklarını veyahut olamadıklarını göstermeye çalışacağız.
The Turkish Sultanate of Delhi was governed by a majority of the Turkish dynasties in India between 1206 and 1414. In the Delhi Turkish Sultanate, the administrative section is not made up of the indigenous people and the state organization has shown development on the home system. The presence of the Turks in the specified period has been in a great degree influential on the political, military, economic and cultural life of India. In this state, the rule was not recognized as a rebellious rebellious. Therefore, it was quite attractive to the new master of power for the commanders/commanders who had the desire to be a ruler in him. This concept of power that the state has for the ruling papers, which are in the top positions of the Sultanate and mostly after the Sultanate, which have the most authorized authority, has made them more willing to power, unlike other orders.
