Abstract:

After World War I, the opposition states had gathered together at the Paris Peace Conference to break down the territory of the Ottoman Empire. But when the opposing countries did not get a result from this conference, they later gathered at the London Conference for the same purpose. The opposition states, which could not get anything from the London Conference, had gathered in San Remo, Italy, on 18-26 April 1920 to accept their own wishes to the Ottoman Empire. The opposition states (England, France, Italy) were trying to share the territory of the Ottoman Empire with each other. They were attempting to shrink the boundaries of the Ottoman State to make the Ottoman a small state. Therefore, they made some decisions to carry out these efforts. The decisions taken at the San Remo Conference were very heavy and it was realized that by the implementation of the decisions taken at the conference the Ottoman Empire would be removed from the historical stage. Therefore, the decisions taken at this conference were not possible to be accepted by the National Liberation Movement, which began in Anadolu.
