Abstract:

The aim of this study is to adapt the Teaching Awareness Scale (ÖFÖ) developed by Frank, Jennings and Greenberg (2016) to Turkish. For this purpose, the scale materials were first translated into Turkish and then reversed into English. The data was collected from two different teachers groups between the ages of 23-57. As a result of the verifying factor analysis (DFA) with the data obtained from groups, the scale’s conformity well-being indicators were sufficient and the scale’s two-factor structure was verified. In order to study the measurement-related validity of the measurement, the relationship between the Maslach Exhaustive Inventory - Educational Form (Ince and Shahin, 2015) was considered and determined relationships at the meaningful level as expected (r = .45 -.42 range, p<.01). The internal consistency ratio calculated for the sub-scale (for the sub-scale of personal awareness .70, for the sub-scale of interpersonal awareness .61) has been found to be acceptable. Test-up and test reliability ratings have also been shown to be high for both sub-scale (for the sub-scale of personal awareness, .80, for the sub-scale of interpersonal awareness, .73). As a result, it is possible to say that the Turkish form of the ÖFÖ has sufficient psychometric characteristics.
