Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi, Ekolojik Vatandaşlık ve Yeşil Aklama

Abstract:

Sosyal Bilgiler dersinin var oluş amaçlarından biri doğal kaynakları koruyan ve sürdürülebilir bir çevre anlayışına sahip olan bireyler yetiştirmektir. Bu duyarlılıkta yetişen bireylerin çevreyi ve doğayı korurken bilinçli olmaları gerekmektedir. Sosyal Bilgiler dersi bu bilinci kazandıracak ve topluma yön verecek derslerden biridir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı; Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitiminde yeni bir kavrama yer vererek yeşil aklamayı açıklamak, ekolojik vatandaşlık ile var olan ilişkisini ortaya koymaktır. Dünya’da yaşanan iklim krizinin yeni bir vatandaşlık boyutunu zorunlu kılmaya çalıştığı bir döneme girildiği söylenebilir. Ekolojik vatandaşlık denilen bu boyutta bireyler çevreyi koruma sorumluluğu kazanır ve çevrelerini de bu sorumlulukla yetiştirmeye çaba göstermektedir. Çevreyi koruma içgüdüsüyle hareket eden bireylerin yeşil ürün, çevre dostu ürün, geri dönüştürülebilir ürün alma eğilimlerinin yapılan çalışmalarda yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Büyük şirket veya kurumların bu satın alma eğilimine sahip olan bireyleri çeşitli yollarla yanılttığı durum yeşil aklama olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bir işletmenin ya da ürünün çevreciymiş gibi sunulması, asılsız ve dikkat dağıtıcı unsurlar içeren çevresel iddiaların reklamlarda, halkla ilişkilerde veya ambalajlarda yer almasına yeşil aklama denir. Bireylerin yeşil aklama kavramını okul çağında öğrenmeleri ve yanılgıya düşmemeleri için Sosyal Bilgiler dersi önemli bir rol oynamaktadır.  Bu çalışmanın sonucunda yeşil aklama tuzağına düşmemek adına Sosyal Bilgiler dersi içinde yer alan kazanım ve konuların irdelenip anlatılması; medya okuryazarlığı dersine giren Sosyal Bilgiler eğitimcilerinin üzerine de önemli görevler düştüğü tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract:

One of the objectives of the social knowledge course is to educate individuals who protect natural resources and have a sustainable environmental understanding. Individuals who grow up in this sensitivity need to be conscious while preserving the environment and nature. The social knowledge course is one of the courses that will gain this awareness and guide society. The main objective of this study is to explain the green fluid by placing a new concept in Social Information Education, to reveal its relationship with ecological citizenship. It can be said that the climate crisis in the world has entered a period in which it is trying to make a new dimension of citizenship compulsory. In this dimension called ecological citizenship, individuals gain responsibility to protect the environment and strive to educate their surroundings with this responsibility. Individuals who act with the environmental protection instinct have been found to have a high tendency to acquire green products, environmentally friendly products, recyclable products in studies. The situation in which large companies or organizations mislead individuals with this tendency to purchase in various ways is considered as green washing. The presentation of an enterprise or product as environmental is called green washing that environmental claims containing unreasonable and distorting elements are included in advertising, public relations or packaging. The social knowledge course plays an important role in ensuring that individuals learn the concept of green washing in the school age and do not be misleading.  As a result of this study, it has been found that the achievements and the subjects included in the Social Information lesson in order not to fall into the green dirt; the social information educators who entered the media literature lesson have also taken important tasks.

One of the purposes of the Social Studies class is to cultivate individuals who protect natural resources and have a sustainable understanding of the environment. Individuals who grow up with this sensitivity need to be conscious in protecting the environment and nature. The Social Studies class is one of the lessons that will bring this consciousness and guide society. The main goal of this study is to explain green laundering by introducing a new concept in the Education of Social Studies, and to illustrate its existing relationship with ecological citizenship. One could say that the world climate crisis has entered a period when it is struggling to compel a new dimension of citizenship. In this dimension, so-called ecological citizenship, individuals gain a responsibility to protect the environment and make efforts to cultivate their environment with that responsibility. Moving on an environmental protection instinct, individuals have been found to have a high propensity for buying green products, eco-friendly products, recyclable products. The case is considered green laundering, where large corporations or organizations mislead individuals who have a tendency to buy it in various ways. Offering as if a business or product is green is a greenback when environmental claims containing baseless and distracting elements appear in advertising, public relations, or packaging. The Social Studies class plays an important role in ensuring that individuals learn and don't misunderstand green laundering in the school age. The result of this study is an examination of the benefits and topics of the Social Information course, not to fall into the green-laundering trap; it has also been found to have a significant role fallen on top of the Social Information educators who attend a media literacy class.
