Göktürk Yazıtları’nın Vilhelm Thomsen ve Wilhelm Radloff ile başlayan okuma ve anlamlandırma çalışmaları günümüze kadar devam etmiş, yerli ve yabancı Türkologlar tarafından müstakil metin neşirleri yapılmış, çeşitli okuma ve anlamlandırma denemeleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bununla beraber yazıtların Türkiye Türkçesine aktarılması konusunda hâlâ sorunlar bulunmaktadır. Bu makalemizde Kül Tigin Yazıtı’nın güneydoğu yüzünde geçen ‘ıg(a)r ogl(a)n(ı)ñ(ı)zda : t(u)ygun(u)ñ(ı)zda : y(e)gdi : ig(i)dür : (e)rt(i) g(i)z’ cümlesindeki ‘tuygun’ sözcüğünün cümle içinde yüklendiği anlam üzerinde durulacaktır. Nitekim Kül Tigin Yazıtı’nın güneydoğu yüzünde yer alan ‘t(u)ygun(u)ñ(ı)zda’ sözcüğü, alanın uzmanları tarafından farklı okunan, farklı anlamlandırılan sözcüklerdendir. Sözcük, ‘taygun, toygun, ataygun, atıygun’ gibi farklı şekillerde okunmuş, ‘yüksek bir unvan; taylar, gençler, çocuklar, oğullar, erkek torunlar’ gibi anlamlar yüklenmiştir. Hâlbuki metnin bağlamına göre burada bulunması gereken sözcük, Eski Türkçe ‘tuygun’; ‘kartal <=> ruh/ can’ sözcüğü olmalıdır. Bu makalemizde hususiyle Kül Tigin Yazıtı’nın güneydoğu yüzünde geçen ‘t(u)ygun(u)ñ(ı)zda’ sözcüğü, üzerinde durulmuştur. Öncelikle bu sözcükle ilgili okuma ve anlam denemelerine temas edilecek, ardından Türkçenin tarihî ve çağdaş metinlerinden hareketle görüşlerimiz ortaya konulacaktır. Çalışmayla elde edilen tespitler, değerlendirme ve sonuç bölümünde maddeler hâlinde verilecektir. Sonuç olarak makalede, Kül Tigin Yazıtı’nın güneydoğu yüzünde geçen; “ıg(a)r ogl(a)n(ı)ñ(ı)zda : t(u)ygun(u)ñ(ı)zda : y(e)gdi : ig(i)dür : (e)rt(i)g(i)z” cümlesi üzerindeki mevcut teklifler eleştirel bir gözle tekrar değerlendirilecek ve hususiyle cümlenin anlamı hakkında yeni bir öneri getirilecektir.
The work of reading and understanding of the Göktürk Writings, which began with Wilhelm Thomsen and Wilhelm Radloff, has continued to the present day, and various reading and understanding trials have been carried out by local and foreign Turkologists. However, there are still problems with the translation of the letters to Turkish. In this article we will focus on the meaning of the word ‘tuygun’ in the phrase ‘e’rt(i) g(i)z’ which passes in the south-eastern face of ‘g(a)r ogl(a)n(i)ñ(i)da: t(u)ygun(u)ñ(i)da: y(e)gdi: ig(i)da: (e)rt(i)g(i)z’ in the phrase ‘tuygun’ in the phrase ‘tuygun’ in the phrase ‘tuygun’ in the phrase ‘tuygun’. In fact, the word 't(u)ygun(u)ñ(i)da' on the south-eastern side of the Gul Tigin Writing is one of the words differently read by the experts of the field, differently understood. The word is read in different forms, such as 'taygun, toygun, atygun, atygun', and has been loaded with meanings such as 'a high title; the teygun, the youth, the children, the sons, the grandchildren'. However, according to the context of the text, the word that should be here must be the Old Turkish word 'tuygun'; 'kartal <=> soul/can'. In this article, the word ‘t’ (u)ygun(u)ñ(i)da’ which passes on the south-eastern face of the Silk Tigin Scriptures is focused on it. First, we will be contacted with the reading and meaning trials related to this word, and then our views will be expressed by movement from the historical and contemporary texts of Turkish. The findings obtained by the study will be provided in the evaluation and results section. As a result, in the article, the present proposals on the phrase (e)rt(i)g(i)z will be re-evaluated with a critical look and a new proposal will be brought about the meaning of the phrase.
