In this study, one of the important port cities of the Kilikya region, the Soli Pompeiopolis, which was the result of the caves in the Columns Street between 1999 and 2018, was evaluated by the Eastern Sigillata D group, which was from the late Hellenistic and early Roman Empire-perioded red-hosted ceramic groups. Soli Pompeiopolis Eastern Sigillata D group is the wealthiest Eastern Sigillata D group ever found among the excavations in the Kilikya region. Such a rich buluntu group made it possible to form a wide form repertoire of 14 different forms. In the creation of the form repertoire of the Soli Pompeiopolis Eastern Sigillata D group ceramics, it has also been an important starting point that the Eastern Sigillata D is known as dining containers or, in other words, luxury service containers used in food and beverage service. According to this classification, tables, boxes and craters make up the main groups. The Eastern Sigillata D's located in the Soli Pompeiopolis Column Street dates between the second half of the 1st century BC and the end of the 1st century BC. The city’s most popular history is in the 1st century.
In this research, I studied Eastern Sigillata D finds, one of the red slip ware groups of the Late Hellenistic and the Early Imperial Roman periods which were found during the excavations carried out between 1999 and 2018 in the Colonnaded Street of Soli Pompeiopolis, one of the important port cities of the Cilicia Region. Eastern Sigillata D finds of Soli Pompeiopolis constitute the richest Eastern Sigillata D group ever found during the excavations in Cilicia. This rich group of finds leads to a wide form repertoire, consisting of 14 different forms. Eastern Sigillata D is known as tableware (or in other words, luxury serving vessels for food and drinks) and this is also an important starting point for constituting the form repertoire of the Eastern Sigillata D from Soli Pompeiopolis. According to this classification; plates, bowls and kraters are the main groups. Eastern Sigillata D finds from The Colonnaded Street of Soli Pompeiopolis are dated from the second half of the 1st century BC to the end of the 1st century AD. They are most common in the city during the 1st century AD.
