Bu çalışmanın amacı 2010-2016 yılları arasında yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi alanında yazılmış makalelerin araştırma eğilimlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda doküman incelemesi yöntemiyle yabancılara Türkçe öğretimiyle ilgili makaleler incelenmiştir. Bu makaleler ULAKBIM ve GOOGLE SCHOLAR veri tabanları üzerinden taranmış ve Türkçe olarak yazılmış makaleler seçilmiştir. Seçilen makalelerden bir kısmı araştırma kapsamına uygun olmadığı için değerlendirme dışında bırakılmıştır. 2010-2016 yılları arasında hazırlanmış toplam 191 makale araştırma kapsamına dahil edilmiştir. Toplanan makaleler “YTÖ Yayın Sınıflama Formu” kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Bu forma göre makalelerin yayın yılı, yazar sayısı, konusu, deseni/yöntemi, örneklemi, veri toplama araçları ve verilerin analizi başlıkları altında inceleme yapılmıştır. Bu inceleme işleminde ise içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Forma işlenen veriler SPSS 17.0 programına aktarılarak istatistiksel hesaplamalar yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda yabancılara Türkçe öğretimiyle ilgili çalışmaların çoğunlukla nitel desene göre yapıldığı; örnekleminin, veri toplama aracının ve veri analiz tekniğinin de bu doğrultuda şekillendiği söylenebilir.
